Robot Hive/Exodus Re-Issue in stores September 28th

Clutch have announced the track listing for the expanded-dual disc edition re-issue of Robot Hive/Exodus which will be released worldwide on September 28th through Weathermaker Music. Currently out of print, Robot Hive/Exodus was at one point the band's largest selling title of the decade due to the strength of three extremely powerful yet diverse singles, "Burning Beard," "10001110101," and "Mice & Gods." In addition to upgraded artwork and new digi-packaging, this expanded edition will feature a bonus DVD which includes a classic 33 minute outdoor performance recorded on location at the Sounds of the Underground festival in July of 2005 in Sayreville, NJ. Also included is the Jeremy Hunt directed "Burning Beard" video clip, which was the first ever Clutch single to reach the year end Top 10 most played on MTV's Headbanger's Ball.

In total, the Robot Hive/Exodus re-issue contains 23 songs and over 90 minutes of music. This is the second of three planned extended double disc re-issues, as Weathermaker has already released From Beale Street to Oblivion in July, and plans to issue forth the Blast Tyrant package in November. For the uber-Clutch fan and/or retro rocker, Weathermaker will also see to it that all three releases make their way onto limited edition vinyl.

Dr. Laura: the Nigger Lady

Before I say anything else, I want to establish that I am not a racist. I am friends with people of every color and race, and have nothing against anyone. That being said, isn't this a little ridiculous? People are blowing up over a word. That's all it is. And most of us hear it used every single day and nobody even questions it.

What we really need to do is consider the context the word was used in. Dr. Laura was not using it in a derogative manner, like Michael Richards. As a society we need to get over things and stop being so damn sensitive. It's 2010! Come on!

We can all learn a lot from a cartoon, South Park.

Why is Marijuana still illegal? Part 2

The history of marijauana

People around the world have been smoking marijuana for thousands of years while also using the hemp plant for everything from fabric and rope to ethanol fuel. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way, a man with a bit of power and enough determination decided pot was wicked, evil and narcotic. He moved mountains to make it illegal worldwide. In the U.S., the struggle continues to this day to overcome the lies and misconceptions about marijuana that the government spent billions to spread.Between 1937 and 1947, the government spent $220 million on the war against drugs. Between 1948 and 1963, the cost of this "war" on marijuana alone escalated to $1.5 billion. From 1964 to 1969 the government spent $9 billion on the war against marijuana, a price tag that continues to rise.

7000 - 8000 BCE - First Fabric Known to Man

The hemp plant, also called cannabis or marijuana, has been used around the world for thousands of years. Sometime around 7000 - 8000 BCE, the first fabric is believed to have been woven from dried hemp weed.

6000 BCE - Cannabis Seeds Used as Food

Around 6000 BCE hemp seeds were used as food in China. By 2727 BCE, the Chinese documented the use of cannabis as a medication to treat a variety of health problems. They later grew the plant on a large scale for food and fiber.

1500 BCE - Cannabis is Cultivated and Left as an Offering

In 1500 BCE Scythians started to cultivate cannabis for weaving cloth. By 700 - 300 BCE the status of the plant had been elevated among Scythian tribes and cannabis seeds were left as offering in royal tombs.

1200 - 800 BCE - "Sacred Grass" Named One of Five Sacred Plants in India

Cannabis is called "Sacred Grass" in the Hindu sacred text Arthava-Veda and named one of the five sacred plants of India. It was used as an offering to Shiva and also as a medication in India from 1200 - 800 BCE.

500 BCE - Hemp Use Spreads Throughout Europe

The hemp plant was introduced into Northern Europe by the Scythians around 500 BCE Over the next 400 years it spread throughout the subcontinent.

500 - 600 CE - Cannabis Mentioned in the Jewish Talmud

Sometime around 500 - 600 CE, there was a mention of the euphoric properties on cannabis in the Jewish Talmud.

900 - 1000 - Smoking Cannabis Becomes Popular in the Middle East

Between 900 -1000 the use of cannabis spread throughout the Arab world. By the early 1200s, smoking marijuana had become very popular in the region. It was popular among Muslims, who are not permitted to drink alcohol.

1492 - Marijuana Comes to the New World

In 1492, Christopher Columbus brought Cannibis Sativa to America.

1000 - 1500 - Farmers in America Required to Grow Hemp

From 1000 to 1500, the use of marijuana spread further. The French and British grew hemp in the colonies of Port Royal, Virginia and Plymouth. In 1619 a law was passed in Jamestown, Virginia Colony, which required farmers to grow hemp. Marijuana also became a major trade item between Central and South Asia during this time.

1797 - Presidential Marijuana

At Mount Vernon, George Washington grew hemp as his primary crop in 1797. Thomas Jefferson grew hemp as a secondary crop at Monticello.

1798 - Napoleon Bans Hemp

In 1798, Napoleon declared a total prohibition of hemp after realizing much of the Egyptian lower class were habitual smokers of marijuana.

1840 - Medical Cannabis Sold in the U.S.

In 1840, medicines with a cannabis base were available in U.S. pharmacies. Hashish was available in Persian pharmacies.

1876 - U.S. Receives the Gift of Marijuana

In 1876, the Sultan of Turkey gave marijuana to the United States as a gift. By 1880, Turkish smoking parlors were opened all over the northeastern U.S.

1906 - Food and Drug Administration Formed in the U.S.

In 1906, the Pure Food and Drug Act was passed in the U.S. and the Food and Drug Administration was formed. This was the first time drugs had any government oversight.

1908 - Ford's Hempmobile

In 1908, Henry Ford made his first Model T with hemp plastic. The car was fueled with hemp ethanol.

1913 - Cannabis Prohibition Begins in the U.S.

California passed the first state marijuana law in 1913, but it was largely overlooked because it specifically addressed "preparations of hemp, or loco weed." Other state anti-marijuana law were passed in Utah in 1915, in Texas in 1919, Louisiana in 1924 and New York in 1927.

1928 - Cannabis Prohibition in Britain

In 1928, the recreational use of marijuana was banned in Britain.

1900 - Marijuana Ordinance Passed in El Paso

Marijuana came into the southwestern United States in the early 1900s with Mexican migrants who entered the country looking for work. Laborers enjoyed smoking marijuana after hard days in the fields. The local European Whites believed that marijuana gave the Mexicans "superhuman strength" and turned them into killers. In 1914 in El Paso, some white men were allegedly attacked by a Mexican man who had "gone crazy" on supposedly "killer weed." Following the incident, the El Paso City Council passed an ordinance banning possession of marijuana. The law was more about controlling the local Mexican populace than controlling marijuana, as the predominantly white constituency did not like the Mexicans or their customs.

1930 - Harry J. Anslinger Declares War on Marijuana

The federal government gave control of illegal drugs to the Treasury Department, which created the Federal Bureau of Narcotics. Harry J. Anslinger, a prohibitionist, became the first commissioner of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics in 1930. He held the position until 1962. Anslinger declared war on drugs and effectively shaped America's views about marijuana.

1930 - Marijuana Use Spreads to Major Cities

In the 1930s, bales of marijuana (called muggles), tea and reefer were arriving in southern port cities such as New Orleans via West Indian sailors. Jazz musicians travelled north and took marijuana with them, making reefer parties popular in many major cities along the way.The Uniform State Narcotic ActWhen it became too expensive for the Bureau to pursue all drug cases on its own, Anslinger tirelessly campaigned and lobbied for the passage of the Uniform State Narcotic Act, which would require states to police drug trafficking and commit state resources for the war on drugs. Only nine states initially agreed, so Anslinger launched a nationwide media campaign declaring marijuana causes temporary insanity. The ads featured young people smoking marijuana, then behaving recklessly, committing crimes, killing themselves and others or dying from marijuana use. The propaganda campaign was a success and all states signed on.

1936 - Reefer Madness

In 1936, the propaganda film "Reefer Madness" was made in an attempt to scare young Americans away from using marijuana. The film directly stated that smoking marijuana causes insanity. In the film, a woman smokes marijuana, then laughs while a man who has smoked marijuana beats a third person to death.

1937 - Marijuana Tax Stamp Act

Anslinger's propaganda campaign convinced the public that marijuana was in fact a "killer drug." Hysterical voters demanded action without seeing or hearing about any scientific research about marijuana or proof of the supposed harm that comes from smoking it.On October 2, 1937, without any open debate, scientific enquiry, or political objection, President Roosevelt signed the Marijuana Tax Law. The law made it illegal to possess marijuana in the U.S. without a special tax stamp issued by the U.S. Treasury Department. In theory, growing and selling marijuana was still legal as long as you bought the government tax stamp for $1.00. However, the Treasury Department did not issue any tax stamps for marijuana, effectively making growing, selling and possessing marijuana illegal under the Act.First Marijuana ConvictionOn the very day the Marijunana Tax Stamp Act was passed, the FBI and Denver police raided the Lexington Hotel and arrested two people: Samuel R. Caldwell and Moses Baca. Three days later, Caldwell, a 58 year old unemployed laborer, became first person in the U.S. to be convicted of selling of marijuana without a tax stamp. He was sentenced to four years of hard labor in Leavenworth Penitentiary. Presiding Judge J Foster Symes, had previously stated that he considered marijuana to be the worst of all narcotics and vowed to impose harsh sentences for violations of the Marijuana Tax Act. Caldwell was also fined $1,000 for the two marijuana cigarettes that were found in his possession. Baca, who was his customer, was found guilty of possession of marijuana and was sentenced to 18 months in prison. Both men served their full sentences. Caldwell died a year after his release.

1944 - New York Mayor Takes a Stand Against Marijuana Prohibition

Fiorello La Guardia, the mayor of New York, spoke out against the Marijuana Tax Stamp Act, saying the majority of Americans did not want the law and it should be abolished. He was skeptical of the government's claims and propaganda touting marijuana as a dangerous, evil, killer narcotic. La Guardia commissioned a six-year study by a group of 31 impartial scientists. After an in-depth scientific analysis, researchers concluded that marijuana does not cause violent, psychotic episodes, is not responsible for anti-social behavior, does not cause uncontrollable sexual urges and does not alter a person's core personality structure. In 1944, La Guardia's commission published a report of the findings, scientifically disproving all of Anslinger's propaganda and outlandish clams about the effects of smoking marijuana. Once again, Anslinger used his muscle with the press to discredit the report and destroyed every copy of the report he could. He then successfully blocked any further research by restricting the availability of marijuana.

1950 - Anslinger Targets Hollywood

Anslinger then began digging up dirt on anti-prohibitionists, and took special aim at the entertainment industry. Hollywood buckled under the pressure and gave Anslinger personal control over movie scripts that mentioned drugs. Any movie that Anslinger felt sent the wrong message was banned. The Marijuana Propaganda Continues in the 1950sIn the 1950s, Anslinger used a new scare tactic by producing propaganda claiming that marijuana was a gateway drug to heroin. Americans were concerned about a growing number of teens using heroin, so Anslinger used that concern as an opening to push his marijuana message once again. The media circulated the myth that most heroin-addicts were led down the path to disaster by marijuana and that most marijuana users become addicted to harder drugs.

1951 - Boggs Act Increases Drug Penalties

In 1951, Anslinger supported an amendment to the Harrison Narcotic Act, introduced by Senator Hale Boggs, that would dramatically increase mandatory drug sentences. Boggs said that harsh sentences were needed for all drug offenses because drugs were a tool of Communist China. Truman signed the Boggs Act.

1956 - Narcotic Control Act of 1956

On a roll, Anslinger then pushed for even tougher drug laws and got President Eisenhower on board. The Narcotic Control Act put marijuana in the same drug class as heroin and added more severe penalties. A first conviction of possession of marijuana was punishable by a mandatory two to 10 years in prison. State drug laws also toughened up. In Missouri, a second conviction for possession of marijuana was eligible for a life sentence.

1961 - Anslinger Targets the United Nations

Propelled by his success in criminalizing marijuana and adding teeth to drug laws, Anslinger set his sights higher and went to the U.N. In 1961, Using the then-considerable influence of the United States, he convinced over 100 countries to consolidate their drug agreements into a single convention that would make marijuana illegal around the world. Anslinger was honored by JFK at his retirement in 1962.

1960 - Anti-Drug Propaganda

In the 1960s, anti-drug propaganda was widely distributed with the message that smoking marijuana would not only make you lazy and irresponsible, but that you were also out of touch with reality and a threat to national security.Dr. Leo E. Hollister, the associate chief of staff and the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital in California conducted a study of the effects of marijuana and concluded that smoking marijuana makes people happy, friendly, intoxicated and sleepy. He found no reason to believe that smoking pot made people aggressive or led to addiction to other drugs.

1972 - Marijuana Culture is Born in the U.S.

Despite the propaganda, marijuana increased in popularity on college campuses across the country. Students spoke out about their marijuana use and gradually changed the public's perception of the drug. By 1965, an estimated 1 million Americans had tried marijuana. With events like Woodstock and popular groups such as the Grateful Dead, smoking marijuana became a part of pop-culture. By 1972, approximately 24 million Americans had tried marijuana.Nixon's War on DrugsNixon won the election on a campaign-platform for restoring law and order in the country. Since most criminal violations are handled by the states, he found that drug laws could allow him to be most effective. He launched Operation Intercept. Two thousand customs agents were deployed along the Mexican border in a military-style search and seizure mission to stop the flow of marijuana. Virtually no marijuana was found among the 5 million people who were searched and after three weeks the operation was abandoned. Nixon then decided to concentrate on police training to fight the war against marijuana. Almost immediately, marijuan-related arrests and convictions increased dramatically.Don Crowe Sentenced to 50 YearsTwenty-five year old Vietnam veteran Don Crowe was convicted of selling marijuana to an undercover cop. It was his first offense and the amount of marijuana was under an ounce. He was sentenced to 50 years in prison.

1969 - The Controlled Substances Act

There was a push for marijuana reform as the public began to realize that marijuana laws were not effective and that the penalties were too harsh. A big wake-up call for many middle-class people was the fact that their own kids were the top demographic for arrests and prosecution. At a Senate hearing on marijuana legislation in 1969, Dr. Stanley Yolles estimated that 8 to 12 million people in the United States smoked marijuana and urged Congress to abolish mandatory minimum sentencing for drug offenses. Congress took the advice and passed Controlled Substances Act which eliminated mandatory minimums and reduced penalties for possession of marijuana.

1972 - The National Commission on Marijuana and Drug Abuse Report

Nixon continued his anti-drug crusade. He enlisted celebrities and used the media to spread the message, as well as funded a new study to identify the dangers of marijuana. Researchers found that using marijuana did not lead to crime, and that laws were selectively enforced and police targeted people with a certain look. They also found the cost of attempting to enforce marijuana laws far outweighed any deterrent effect of that enforcement. In 1972, The National Commission on Marijuana and Drug Abuse released a report which would be the most comprehensive study on marijuana ever done. The commission took the position that smoking marijuana in one's own home should not be criminalized. Nixon threw the report in the garbage can without ever reading it.

1972 - DEA is Born

Nixon did not give up, and pushed forward with his war against marijuana. In 1972, all of the government's existing drug agencies were combined into one super-powerful agency, the Drug Enforcement Agency. The DEA was given the authority to enter homes without knocking, use wiretaps and gather intelligence on anyone.Marijuana ActivismIn the 1970s, smoking marijuana became popular among middle-class adults, and activists revamped the movement for decriminalization.

1980 - The Reagan Administration's War on Drugs

In the 1980s, the Reagan administration launched its own war on drugs. An average of one person every 38 seconds was arrested for violating marijuana laws.Judge Francis Law Recommends Reclassifying Marijuana as a Prescription DrugJudge Francis Law, a DEA administrative law judge, held hearings on the medical benefits of marijuana. He found that marijuana has a clearly established medical use and recommended that it be reclassified as a prescription drug. However, no action was taken to reclassify marijuana based on Law's findings.

2003 - First U.S. Medical Marijuana Law Passed

Although Canada became the first country in the world to legalize medical marijuana in 2003, the U.S. Federal Government has been resistant to changing marijuana laws. California passed Proposition 215, the first U.S. medical marijuana law, in 1996. Today Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington have passed medical marijuana laws. Several other states are also considering legalizing medical marijuana.

2009 - U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Medical Marijuana Case

On May, 18, 2009, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear a dispute over California's medical marijuana law. Opponents of California's Compassionate Use Act argue that the law undermines federal drug laws. Last year, a California appeals court ruled that the state's medical marijuana law does not supersede federal drug laws.

2010 - The Fight for Reform and Medical Marijuana Continues

Currently marijuana activists are working for marijuana reform and fighting for medical marijuana laws. The U.S. National Institute of Health spent $1 million on medical research to investigate the therapeutic effects of synthetic chemicals that mimic the effects of smoking marijuana. At Temple University, research is also being done on synthetic marijuana.Meanwhile, the U.S. government, which supposedly has no horse in the medical marijuana race, has patented medical marijuana. US Patent 6630507 was assigned to the United States of America, as represented by the Department of Health and Human services on October 7, 2003 and protects "Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants."

2012 - MARIJAUNA IS LEGALIZED!!

I predict by 2012, possible even sooner, marijauna will be leagalized for adults over 21. They will be able to grow it and smoke it with no worries. Also hemp will become a major part of our economy, again.

Why are we still in Iraq?

Is it just me or does it seem like we are in Iraq for no reason? Don't get me wrong I support our troops 100%. They protect this country and make it possible for me to live the life I live. But why the fuck are we still in Iraq? You don't even hear anything new anymore, just about more of our people dieing. I thought Obama was supposed to get us out of Iraq?

This mess is never going to end. As long as we rely on oil we are always going to be at war with the middle east to gain control of the oil industry and make the leaders of this country more money. The solution, in my opinion, green energy. Solar, wind, whatever it is, we need to do it and we need to do it now.

What happened to our huge budget defecit?

So before the election all you heard about was how many trillion dollars we were in debt. Obama gets ellected and our debt it gone? I haven't heard much of anything about what our debt is at now. Or do we even have a debt? How come the American public isn't given this information? Instead of being honest with the people, our government hides shit and distracts us with other bull shit issues.

We need to take it back to the days of the 60's. Where you can protest and make a difference. Instead of being afraid to do anything because you will get arrested. Police should protect and serve us, not make us fear them.

Why is Marijuana still illegal? Part 1

Marijauna is the safest drug known to man

I ask myself this question all of the time. Modern science says that marijauna help patients by releiving pain and stimulating appetite and sleep. History tells us that marijauna was once a staple crop. Being used for rope, clothes, paper, oil, etc.. Our government at one time required farmers grew marijauana to be used as hemp to support this country.

Everyone knows that facts. Why aren't we doing anything? Why are people still going to jail over a plant? Everyone knows marijauna is harmless. It has been proved over and over, that marijuana is safer than tobacco and alcohol. It's even safer than advil! Our government needs to wake the hell up and serve the people, not their pockets.

View this article Paul Armentano: Science is clear; why aren't we paying attention? to learn more about the safety and efficacy of of marijuana use.

Marijuana can save our economy and environment

Hemp is more useful, and easier to grow than most other plants. Cotton and trees especially. Yet instead of looking towards the future, our government wants to fill there pockets now. Hemp produces more and grows more easily than both. It's uses are almost unlimited. Yet for some reason, it is still illegal.

Legalizing marijauna and taxing it, just like alcohol and cigarettes, could stabilize our economy. Legalization will make marijuana unavailable to kids and take it off the black market, where all the harm is done.

I can go on for days about this topic and I will. This is part 1 of the "Why is Marijuana still illegal" series. I will continue to write and support the legalization of marijuana untill it is proved to be harmful or useless. Which it never will be.

Chupacabra Sightings - watch your ass!

From The Buzz Log - A barn in Hood County, Texas, has become ground zero in the hunt for the chupacabra. Earlier this week, animal control officer Frank Hackett shot and killed what was unquestionably one of the ugliest creatures to ever walk the planet. That much we know. What's less clear is whether or not the departed creature was the elusive goat-sucking beast.

Interestingly, that wasn't the only chupacabra sighting around Hood County. A second creature was spotted and killed several miles away. Both appear to be either hairless coyotes, extremely ugly dogs, or, who knows? Maybe the thing they call el chupacabra.

In the wake of the discovery, Web searches on "chupacabra sightings" and "chupacabra texas" both roared to life, as did Web lookups for "chupacabra translation" and "chupacabra definition." According to Virtue Science, the name literally translates to "goat sucker." Legend states that the beast would attack goats and suck their blood. Think of them as a less sexy version of "Twilight"'s infamous vampire Edward Cullen.

Officer Hackett was careful not to say whether or not this is really the mysterious beast. He's going to wait for the DNA tests before he makes up his mind. There is one thing he does know: "It wasn't normal." And another officer on the scene commented that she'd "never seen anything like it."

Below you can watch the locals discuss their findings, but beware. The images of the creature are quite nasty.

VaporBat by VaporGenie from VaporStore.com

For just $45 you can get a hand held portable vaporizor. These pipes are designed to provide the ultimate in portability and convenience. They are 4.5 inches long, and only 7/8 inches in diameter at the widest points. The aluminum Bat VG will easily fit in your pocket. They have a CNC machined and anodized aluminum pipe body and filter body. They contain the same ceramic filter that is used in all VaporGenie pipes. They weigh exactly the same amount as the handcarved pipes (57 grams), and slightly less than the Classic VGs (which weigh about 70-75 grams).

The pipe portion is made of a single piece of solid aluminum. So the bowl is aluminum, not stainless steel. The bowl has the same stainless steel screen and stainless steel wire coil that is used in all VaporGenie pipes. The bowl is deep (the same size and depth as the Aluminum pipe VGs or handcarved VGs). The male threads on the filter part are stainless steel. Also, the ceramic filter is insulated from the aluminum filter body by a stainless steel liner, just like in all the wood VaporGenie pipes.

One helpful innovation in this pipe is that the flame intake hole is located on the *side* of the pipe. This puts the hole in clear view, making it very easy to position the flame properly.

The pipe portion is easily cleaned with pipecleaners, since the hole is straight. The aluminum can be easily cleaned by soaking in a pipe-cleaning solvent such as alcohol (e.g. isopropanol) or hot soapy water. This is not possible with any of our wooden pipes, of course.

In use, these pipes require a little more flame application than our other pipes. They are therefore less likely to burn your herbs. This is because the aluminum will absorb more heat in both the filter portion and the pipe portion. The pipe will definitely become warm with use, but it does not become uncomfortably hot, unless perhaps you use it in a hot environment (e.g. in the middle of the day on the playa at Burning Man).

Phil Anselmo Promises ‘Fucking Aggressive’ Solo Album

From Metal Hammer.com - You could even call it fucking hostile, if you so wished. Get your High Voltage tickets here!

Phil Anselmo is currently working on a solo album as well as new music for Down and his autobiography and he’s gearing up for Down’s headline performance at High Voltage. In short, he’s one busy bastard!

Anyway, he revealed this about his forthcoming solo album in a recent interview with LA Music Blog:

“I’m just writing new material and by no means is it finished. It’s really just in demo form right now. It’s just me and a drummer, this kid from around here, nobody that anybody knows, just a session guy that learns real fast and does what I say. So yeah, if this stuff comes around like I think it’s going to come around, then definitely, I think people should be hearing this stuff. And that’s exciting. It’s an exciting prospect right there.”

“It’s not going to be anything else I’ve ever done. If you’re going to start a band, and I’ve said it ten million times — and I should know, figuring I’ve been in so many different bands — not one of them is aimed to sound alike. So I’m going to definitely try and keep things fresh here. But to answer your question, it’s fucking aggressive.”

We can’t wait.

To the douche bag NY State Police

Not Once But Twice They Had To Hastle Us

Riding up to Tupper Lake NY doing 81 in a 65.. that's a reason to get pulled over. But to question an empty sandwich baggie when I am eating a god damn sandwich right there is a little ridiculous. Then after coming back to the car, and seeing me eating this fucking sandwich the first time he came the car, questions what the crumbs on my shirt were. WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK THEY ARE? Did you not see the sandwich I was eating not 5 minutes earlier when you first walked up to the car. Why do cops play dumb? Or are they just that dumb? What was I going to do sit there and roll a blunt while hes running our shit? Fucking moron.

Illegal Search

After 6 straight hours on the road, we stop to get something to drink and go to the bathroom. So I go in get some drinks and blunt wraps (chocolate wraps at that) and I come outside and start walking to the side of the building to see if there is a bathroom. Don't see it, so I go back inside and the guy tells me they are around back.. cool.

We walk back I go to the bathroom walk out and who is there waiting. Because walking behind a bulding makes you look like a criminal, the pigs are sitting there waiting. Start asking all of these questions about what we're doing back there and they thought the bathroom was on the other side and all kinds of stupid shit. Obviously he can see the bathroom right in front of him. So he tells us someone broke in to some car behind the store and blah blah blah. Searches me for no reason, acting like a tough guy of course. They let us go but the asshole left my license clipped to his pen in his pocket. I said I'll take that back. Thank you sir.

Moral of the story..

Twiztid Talk Heartbreak & Homicidal

Ever since Twiztid have returned from the Slaughterhouse Tour it has been impossible to step foot inside of the Lotus Pod. The two masterminds, Madrox and Monoxide, have practically barred themselves away from the public as they diligently work at completing their next major album entitled Heartbroken & Homicidal, which is set to be released September 21st.

For weeks they have arrived in the early hours of day and stayed until late at night. The sound of thumping bass can be heard throughout the entire building as thick plumes of smoke roll out from beneath the locked Lotus Pod door. They have been laying low, wrapped in their work on what we have heard is another musical masterpiece from the demented duo.

But through a twist of fate and the luck of the draw, we somehow managed to get inside the studio for an interview with Twiztid. This was our chance to learn about Heartbroken & Homicidal from the men themselves. The entire room was filled with the smog of bud and cigarette smoke. We could barely hear ourselves think as music blared from large speakers, giving us a small taste of what would be on the album. But we didn’t let that stop us as we asked them the questions that Juggalos have been pondering amongst themselves.

Monoxide would steadily listen to the beats they were creating, tweaking knobs and sliders here and there until it sounded just right. Madrox was lost in the same level of intense devotion to their craft, but he would pause now and then, long enough to give us the answers we were looking for.

The entire interview was done and over before we knew what had happened. The door of the Lotus Pod was once again shut in our face as the volume of the music rose. But what we were left with was the following interview.

HH: There is a lot of speculation going around over the title of your brand new album, Heartbroken & Homicidal. Can you shed any light on this title for us?

Madrox: To care for something - to love it and to cherish it - is, and can be, very meaningful. But when your THING that you care for and love is taken away from you or rejects you? Your world is crushed. You’re Heartbroken. Most people deal with rejection or loss of love or loved ones in passing and move on with their lives. But a select few lash out with bitter hate and malice toward anyone and everyone causing them to go homicidal. This album will deal with a variety of entries all surrounding those very people and the complexities of their stories.

HH: What can the Juggalos expect from Heartbroken & Homicidal?

Madrox: It's a musical expedition though the emotions that humans feel, act, and emote as their world closes around them. I'm sure a lot of people will relate to this record more than they will care to admit. Is that a good thing? Maybe... If it helps them vent rather than kill - definitely!

HH: Are there any special guests on Heartbroken & Homicidal you can tell us about?

Madrox: No, not at this time.

HH: What has you most hype about Heartbroken & Homicidal?

Madrox: Our sound is ever changing, yet deeply rooted in every element of what we do best - being ourselves! I’m hype after all these years myself and Paul still have the ability to do that. What's more real than that? Flat out!

HH: Are there any songs on Heartbroken & Homicidal that really jump out at you as your favorite so far? If so can you drop a little knowledge about them?

Madrox: We have a song called "Apple", it's very powerful and deals with current happenings in our America. It will make minds think about the surroundings they live in - it's real deep. And another called “PSA” that deals with the touchy subject of cyber bullying in a playful yet deadly way. There's two off the top of the dome.

HH: When Twiztid put out an album you guys tend to reinvent yourselves and your sound. Can you give us a hint as to what will separate the Heartbroken & Homicidal era from all other eras of Twiztid?

Madrox: A sense of realism brought about in a time of fakeness. While others follow the trends we may, or may not, have set we still continue to make our own decisions and raise the bar at will. We truly went outside of our comfort zone to capture what we heard in our minds for this record.

HH: Any other tidbits you can drop?

Madrox: After seeing that concept fan-art cover we previously posted on twiztid.com, I officially hate the players and the game. I'm out!

Since its founding in 1970, NORML has provided a voice in the public policy debate for those Americans who oppose marijuana prohibition and favor an end to the practice of arresting marijuana smokers.
Both Candidates For HD 2 Support Legalizing Marijuana

Although many issues separate the Democrat and Republican candidates running for State House District 2, the contenders agree on one thing; marijuana should be legal for adults.

Having Rep. Mark Ferrandino, D-Denver, and Doc Miller, his Republican opponent in the upcoming election, both publicly support the decriminalization of marijuana has some activists giddy about the changes in public opinion towards the drug.

“I think it’s a good sign that marijuana reform is becoming a widely accepted position,” said Mason Tvert of Safer Alternative For Enjoyable Recreation ( SAFER ), a group that points out the ways they perceive marijuana to be less harmful than alcohol. “We see Democrats and Republicans not only both voicing public support for reforming marijuana laws, but in some sense often vying to see who can support them more.”

Ferrandino, a member of the Joint Budget Committee, said legalizing marijuana would help the state’s pocketbook, which is facing an additional $75 million shortfall next budget year and a potential $1 billion shortfall the following year. 9News reported this week that the city of Denver collected more than $1 million in sales tax revenue from medical marijuana from December-April.

“If you legalize it and you tax it, you’re going to increase the amount of revenue to the state,” Ferrandino said. Miller, a lawyer challenging Ferrandino for his House District 2 seat, added that legalizing marijuana would result in fewer people in jail, less money spent by the state, and allow him as an attorney to “stop fishing them out one at a time.”

“My solution to the drug war is to do like we did with prohibition when we realized that didn’t work; legalize marijuana,” he said.

A regulated environment

Although he supports the legalization of marijuana, Ferrandino said the industry would have to be regulated in order to avoid a “wild, wild West” type of environment. He believes the biggest hurdle to legalization is making sure that police officers could definitively tell whether someone was driving under the influence of marijuana.

Denver Police officers are trained to recognize when someone is driving and under the influence of drugs. Officers can also call over a “Drug Recognition Expert” police officer to conduct tests and further identify the signs of someone driving under the influence of drugs.

However, police officers don’t have a device like a Breathalyzer that can determine on scene whether someone is definitively on drugs. DPD Spokesman Sonny Jackson said that the police department isn’t made up of scientists or inventors who could invent such a device, so they must rely on their training.

Jeremy Rosenthal, an attorney who specializes in DUI cases, said it’s very tough for cops and the state to prove in court that a person was driving under the influence of drugs because there is no near-foolproof test like a Breathalyzer.

“They usually only win those cases when the cop actually sees the person smoking,” he said.

Rosenthal added that he has seen more clients who are charged with driving under the influence of drugs since the proliferation of medical marijuana dispensaries. Because the Denver Police Department doesn’t have a separate ticket for driving under the influence of marijuana, it’s impossible to say how many people have been arrested or cited for it, Jackson said.

Public support

Ferrandino believes the path to marijuana legalization must go through the voters. Tvert, who originally considered putting an initiative on this year’s ballot asking voters to legalize marijuana, will likely wait until 2012 to bring the measure forward because of funding issues.

However, recent polling shows that nearly half of Coloradans support the legalization of marijuana, and as U.S. Rep. Jared Polis, D-Colo., said earlier this year, having multiple lawmakers publicly talk about legalizing marijuana would have been unheard of only 10 years ago.

“The time for debate and discussion has definitely come,” said Ferrandino.
